Sparkling Hibiscus Sangria with Berries

Hibiscus Sangria

Raise your hand who loves sangria! ?

If I had asked this question a few weeks ago, I would not have raised my hand myself. But as I told this postWe had a brunch at Hunters Landing and decided to try the sangria. That’s right, I had never tried it! The idea of chilled fruit wine never convinced me.

But with the high summer temperatures, the patio season encouraged me to try more refreshing drinks. Now I think sangria is the perfect drink for those who love to enjoy the outdoors while eating good food and of course enjoying a good drink.

And speaking of wine…

So since then I’ve been researching Pinterest sangria recipes: red wine, white wine, rosé and even sparkling wine! In one of my adventures on Pinterest (by the way, do you already follow me on Pinterest? Otherwise, follow me for daily ideas!) found this post with a recipe for hibiscus sangria with sparkling wine. I love hibiscus tea and sparkling wine. Obviously I had to try it, right?

But along the way, my husband and I were changing plans and modifying the ingredients in OUR OWN sangria. From this recipe I found, we made one with fruits that we liked the most and the result, I have to say, was very good!

We used frozen fruit because it requires less work. But if you can’t find the fruit mix you want, you can make your own mix and freeze before using it.

Ingredients

  • 700ml Hibiscus Tea
  • 1 Sparkling Wine Bottle
  • 200g Frozen Berries

Instructions

A day earlier I prepared hibiscus tea. I put 100ml in the ice tray and took it to the freezer. To the rest I added the berries and left them in the fridge.

I left the drink in the fridge overnight (ideally leave at least 12 hours).

I added the sparkling wine and poured it.

Note: I didn't add the whole sparkling wine at once. As we were drinking it, I just add more wine to the pitcher.
