Karl Lagerfeld once said:
Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life, so you bought some sweatpants.
He was a genius but I’ll have to disagree with him. I know sometimes I wear sweatpants only because I’m too lazy to do anything, including thinking of what to wear.
But I LOVE the shining sweatpants of the photo. They’re comfy but they’re also stunning. Perfect for weekend days when we want to relax but not let the “wow” effect go.
Unlike sweatshirt pants, these velvet ones can elevate a casual outfit. I wouldn’t say it’s a good idea to wear them on weekdays if your work environment requires you to be well dressed. But let’s say they’re fine for a casual Friday or weekend.
I know I’m gonna be wearing mine all fall long (and winter if Toronto’s weather permits).
