A Central Perk Cafe (from Friends) replica just opened in Toronto

CENTRAL CAFE TORONTO

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit on that famous orange couch with a cup of coffee in the morning and discuss ordinary problems?

Yes, I know, you’ve dreamed about it several times (what, just me? Ok, never mind …)

CENTRAL CAFE TORONTO

Last Saturday we went to the Central (Perk) Cafe here in Toronto. A place inspired by the famous cafe in the TV Show Friends.

First, a gossip:

We saw this place (close to home) while they were still decorating the cafe and it had a sign saying Central Perk Cafe Toronto, coming soon.

My heart pounded because I soon suspected what it was, and imagine my happiness when I confirmed with research that, yes, we would have a Friends themed cafe near home.

That was a few months ago, with the planned opening date being July last.

But then Cris, who pass by it every day on the way to work, realized that the license plate had changed and, again, I did my research.

I discovered that the owner of this cafe had the brilliant idea of making a cafe like the one on Friends, but with a little detail: without having the rights that belong to Warner.

I was not the only one to get excited about such a board months ago and. apparently the news spread through social media until it got to the executives of Warner … you can imagine.

Then the coffee had to be “reformulated”, which ended up delaying the inauguration.

But now, it has opened the doors, so we can dream on this orange sofa.

The cafe is not an exact replica, but it “remembers” the cafeteria where the characters met.

And you know what’s best? There’s a TV that plays Friends episodes without stopping!

Seriously, I can live in this cafe.

The food is ok and the prices are cheap. The coffee is very good.

On the first day I ate a very forgettable croissant, but I ended up coming back the next day and ate a panini that convinced me that this is my new darling place in Toronto.
